Kat, Parri, and Cali

In a fabulous weekend of racing, Team Belladium showed their teamwork and strength at the Highland Rim Classic. The 52-mile road race on Saturday ended with a win by Parri, a 2nd place finish by Kat, and a 4th place finish by Cali in the Cat 1/2/3 race, which had a field of 11 riders. Anna captured a win in the Cat 4 race, which had a field of 17 riders; she was aided by teammates Lisa C (12th), Valerie (14th), and Shelly (15th).

The 2.5-mile uphill time trial was the next event on the docket, and Team Belladium shined again. Kat captured the win (in a record time of 13:22), Parri took 3rd, and Cali took 4th among the 9 riders. In the 4s race, Anna was 5th, Valerie was 8th, Lisa C was 10th, and Shelly was 13th among the 16 riders.

The Cat 1/2/3 criterium on Sunday had 9 riders, and Team B once again showed their strength and resilience. Cali took the win, Kat was 4th, and Parri finished in 7th place. Their superb riding this weekend landed Cali, Kat, and Parri in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively for the Omnium. The Cat 3/4 criterium on Sunday had 23 riders, and Anna finished in 4th place in the race and 2nd on the Omnium. Teammates Lisa (11th), Shelly (12th), and Valerie (18th) aided Anna in success.

Team Belladium came out with strong numbers this weekend in the Criterium of Brentwood. Six racers from Belladium were in the Cat 3/4 race, determined to make a difference in the field of 26 women. Despite a crash early in the race that involved a number of riders (all of whom were OK and returned to the race), Cali came out with the lead group and held her spot throughout the race. Her strong sprint on the final straightaway was just enough to take the win for Team Belladium. Kailin took 5^th, Lisa was 10^th, Shelly was 11^th, and Jonell and Valerie were just behind them in 13^th and 17^th.

Six racers from Belladium were also in the Cat 1/2/3 race, and all six worked together to dictate the pace of the race to make the other women work harder than any expected to. The 16-women field stayed together the entire time, despite all the women’s efforts to create a break. Kat won a number of the field primes, and the women all finished strong: Cali, 5^th; Parri, 6^th; Kat, 8^th; Lisa S, 11^th; Lee, 14^th; and Kailin, 15^th.
