Personal Note: I started racing during the 2008 season for the Tri Cities Road Club to improve my bike leg in triathlons. My very first bicycle race was a time trial that took place in freezing rain and resulted in my chain freezing over, so that I had no gears left at the end and had to coast to the finish line! My triathlon results did improve through that summer but I placed last or close to last in every bike race I entered. My favorite race of the 2008 season was the Smith and Nephew/Marx & Bensdorf Criterium. I worked with Alli Greening and a younger girl from Kentucky. The three of us worked together until Alli decided to drop us, and then it was the other girl and me on the last lap to the finish. I was somehow able to out-sprint the girl and placed one better than last. But I was elated because I had finally been close enough to another competitor to contest a finish. I had learned from Alli what it would be like to race with teammates and hoped to be a part of a team someday.

I am humbled and inspired to now be a part Team Belladium. I am looking forward to the 2011 season knowing that I will be stronger and faster than ever and will have a season of experience with the team to draw upon. I know with hard work, better results will follow. More important, I look forward to being able to contribute to the success of my teammates.
